Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Lumi, an AI calorie deficit tracker operated by Furkan Hatipoglu (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Lumi you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Lumi helps you track energy balance and stay aware of a calorie deficit using meals, activity, and AI-assisted nutrition estimates. Lumi is a consumer wellness tool—not a medical device and not a substitute for professional medical, dietary, or mental-health advice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Lumi. If you use Lumi on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for them.
3. Your account and data
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for keeping your device secure. Meal photos, descriptions, and logs you submit must be content you have the right to use. Do not upload unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.
4. AI estimates
AI meal analysis produces approximate calories and macros. Results can be wrong or incomplete— especially with unclear photos, mixed dishes, or missing context. Always use judgment; Lumi does not diagnose conditions or prescribe diets.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Some features require Lumi Premium, sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple In-App Purchase. Prices are shown in the app and App Store at the time of purchase. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Refund requests are subject to Apple’s policies.
6. Free usage limits
Free accounts may have daily or trial limits on AI meal scans (photo/text). Limits exist to keep the service reliable. We may change free allowances with notice in the app where practical.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse AI endpoints (scraping, bulk automation, reverse engineering beyond lawful rights)
- Do not attempt to disrupt or overload our servers
- Do not use Lumi for clinical decision-making or emergency situations
8. Intellectual property
Lumi’s name, design, software, and content (excluding your personal logs) are owned by us or our licensors. You keep ownership of the content you create in the app. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service (including AI estimation).
9. Disclaimer
Lumi is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that estimates will be accurate or uninterrupted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or health outcomes arising from your use of Lumi. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum allowed.
11. Termination
You may stop using Lumi at any time by deleting the app and canceling any subscription with Apple. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or abuse the service.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will change the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Lumi.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply.
